What does it mean to be a Christian?
Being a Christian means that you are cleared from all your sin and made righteous. It means that God has forgiven you and declared you righteous, and in right standing with him. Actually, he gives you his righteousness and takes your un-righteousness away. It also means you are adopted into the family of God and that you will spend eternity with Christ and not feel the sting of death when you die. Being a Christian does not mean that you will do everything right! But it means that a Christian man or woman is learning to live their life based on the leading of the Spirit, and the instructions of the Word of God (Bible).
Now! A Christian is not perfect! They are just forgiven!
Why you should become a Christian!
Because the first man Adam, that was created by God, sinned, and all of mankind (including you) fell into sin and died spiritually.(1 Co 15:21-22). Jesus was the Second Adam, and he came, lived without sin to show us how to be holy, was crucified; taking all of our sin to the cross with him, died on the cross, was buried, and was raised from the dead by the power of God.
Why was he raised from the dead?
So that all who believe on Jesus would be made alive spiritually (be born again). God looked at mankind and declared that we all had sinned, and that we were all under the power and nature of sin.God also declared that everyone, must be born again! (John 3:3b Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.)
What does Being born again mean? To be born again means to be born spiritually! When you were born of your mother, you were born of water, naturally and you became a living soul. However, a person born naturally is spiritually disconnected from God when he is born, and until he is born again, he lives his life separate from God. God want's you to be born again, he want's you to be born spiritually, and he wants you in his royal family! Once you become born again, you are a child of God. Anyone who does not become a Christian, will not be forgiven, and will not spend eternity with God; but will spend eternity with unbeliever's in the darkness of hell.
How do you become a Christian!
This process of becoming a Christian is called salvation. The word salvation is derived from the Greek word [soteria /so·tay·ree·ah/] meaning deliverance, preservation, safety, salvation and blessings.
Becoming a Christian is accepting the work and benefits Christ brought forth by his death on the Cross. It is a Faith process, where you believe in Jesus Christ and become born again.
Here are the two steps according Romans 10:9-10
1. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord of your life. Just say " I now make Jesus Christ Lord of my life."
2. Believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead. Acts 13:27-31, Romans 6:4 Ephesians 1:19-20. For with your heart you believe unto righteousness, and with your mouth you confession is made unto salvation.

Benefits of being a Christian (Salvation)
1. Deliverance from the power and effects of sin.
2. Liberation from ignorance or illusion.
3. Protection from danger or attacks.
4. Preservation from destruction or failure.
5. Healing from sickness and disease.
6. Prosperity in all areas of your life.
