November 22-28th - Be Thankful! - By Pastor Drew

Thankful - to be conscious of the benefit received!
When someone does something good for you; you should immediately tell them Thank you! Too often we take certain benefits for granite, and fail to be thankful for what we receive.  We are to be thankful on the horizontal and the vertical.

Horizontally, we are to be thankful to those in our family, our friends, our employer and even the various service people that provide things for us.
amongst our friends.

Vetically, we are to be thankful unto the Most High God, and forget not all his benefits.

Could you be convicted by a court of law of being thankful?  Would there be enough evidence among our family, friends, and the people we contact on a daily basis to prove that we are thankful.

Thanksgiving is a spiritual currency that can be deposited in anyones life, and it brings about a great return on investment. When you deposit thanksgiving in others you recieve greater benefits. When you give God Thanksgiving, God does greater things for you, so that you can be thankful unto him.

Thanksgiving is the first step and task involved in Praise and Worship.

Psalms 100:4 (NIV) 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Psalms 68:19 (NIV) 19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.

He provides us with the benefit called grace and favor as he watches over us. The Psalmist in 116:12 asked the question. What shall I render to the Lord for all his benefits?

He expects you to render the following;
Thanksgiving to him, during your troubled time, he expects you to pay your vows.
You know those things you said you would do, if he would only get you out of the trouble you were in the last time!  If you have made a vow unto God, pay your vow.

Thanksgiving has a voice (Jonah 2:9, Psalms 26:7) The voice of thanksgiving is called Towdah; it is a song of thanksgiving given unto God, as you enter into praise to him. The voice of thanksgiving is to be heard among others, you should be a  thanksgiving publisher.

God is attentive to the voice of thanksgiving.
You should develop a lifestyle of being thankful.
Start Today, surprise someone with a heartfelt thanks for something they have done, or are doing.

Here  are some other scriptures to read throughout this week on Thanksgiving;

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NIV) But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 2:14 (NIV) 14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.

Ephesians 5:19-20 (NIV) Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
